I didn't do a heap and none of them are complete but I had a great time. You can't beat scrapping all weekend with a great bunch of friends.

Well done everyone.

It has been a while since I have had a chance to scrap so I thought I would challenge my scrapping friends, using this page as our inspiration

Here are the pages that my clever friends made using this as their inspiration.

I have been doing some study and decided I had earned a break so I just finished off these project life cards to use in my travel album. I am really happy with the result. See this link for my inspiration!

I love these.

Amanda is due on Monday and I was checking out videos on some blogs that I follow and was insiped to try some mixed media ideas on a page. I coupled this with the idea of capturing a silhoutte of Amanda and her bump.

I was able to use the Silver Bullet to cut a stencil for the journaling and to cut the silhoutte of Amanda. I also used Photoshop Elements 11 to create the files to use with the cutting machine.

I am really happy with this result. Whoot!

Today I am really excited about starting a short course run by Shimelle called Blogging for Scrapbookers. You may not realise it but I am a numbers girl. I work with numbers, teacher others about numbers and study stuff to do with numbers. I am not nearly as comfortable with words and I have decided to put some time in to developing my blogging skills and thanks to Shimelle I now can jump in boots and all.

I am an Aussie, living in rural NSW. I have two wonderful grown up children, three (almost 4) grand children, the best husband and a full time job that I love. I am also working on my PhD. In my spare time I love to scrap and play with the family. Scrapping gives my brain a welcome rest and let's me reflect on all the good things in my life.

I am often scrapping about events that happened long enough ago that I cannot remember the details and emotions of the events. As a result my journaling is I feel superficial and I often find myself writing that it was “good fun” or that we had a “great day”. I guess I want to be able to include more detail in my journaling so that I can tell more of the story, not just the basics.

I am looking forward to being pushed outside my comfort zone and being challenged to record more interesting stories to go with the pictures I am scrapping. Also, reading other blogs and learning from others as well.

I have been a bit distracted lately and haven't had as much time as I would like to scrap but I have finished a few pages over the weekend, so I thought I would share…

This one started with an idea I found in a magazine for making a decorative spine on a card. I decided to try and make a strip to go on a scrap booking page instead. There was a bit of ruling up and hand cutting but not too much. The instructions were based on inches but I used cams (mainly as that was the ruler I had to hand when I was making it!) and it worked really well. I am not sure what magazine it was because I tore the page out but here is a photo of the page. Going by the page docrafts.com is the place to get the info.

The next was based on a blind scrap. I had lots of fun and love all the bright colours. The base paper I never thought I would us, but by altering it before adding the rest of the elements I not only managed to use paper I never thought I would, I love the result!

The last I did today. These are BoBunny papers and this page virtually made itself. I didn't have to think to hard, I didn't have a plan to start with, it just happened…

I wonder what will happen next?

I have been doing another of Shimelle's classes – return to the collection. These two pages are the result of watching the first two videos and I am really happy with the result. The second on I though when I was watching the second video that I wouldn't do that particular page as it was quiet different to what I would normally do but then I thought to myself that this is why. I am doing the class, to push me out of my comfort zone. Do deep breath… I leap in boots and all. I even made the background paper to be similar to the one that Shimelle used. I am really happy with the end result.

The third page is now complete. I show the Big Shot die cutting and embossing machine in this video. One more page to go and then all four pages will be complete. I have already got an idea for the next page, so there will be more videos in the future.

Finally I have some one time to do the next video. My wonderful daughter has written and recorded to music for this video (she is soooo clever!). This next page has some homemade rosettes as the main embellishments. I hope you like the finished page. I will try and get the next video ready soon.

Let me know if you like the video and if you have any ideas for the next set of videos…
